Connected Communication Is More Than Just "Speech Therapy."

Speech Therapy is the universal term to describe speech-language therapy with a speech-language pathologist. Historically speech therapy has been defined as a therapeutic approach that speech-language pathologists take to train people with speech and language problems to speak more clearly. However, I feel as though the term "Speech therapy" fails to acknowledge its involvement in

  • "Aphasia Therapy,"

  • "Augmentative-Alternative Communication Therapy."

  • "Cognitive-linguistic Communication Therapy,"

  • "Feeding therapy"

  • "Language therapy,"

  • "Literacy therapy," and

  • "Social Therapy,"

My goal is to help connect all the pieces for a holistic, functional, and meaningful therapuetic experience.
